Hunter Johnson

I did not begin this journey with a framework, a course, or a vision for a community.

I began with experiences that challenged how I understood myself and the life I was living.

For a long time, I knew myself through what I did, what I could accomplish, and the roles I carried. When parts of that life changed, I was left with questions I could no longer avoid.

Who am I beyond the roles I play? What patterns am I repeating? What does it mean to take responsibility for the way I live?

Where it began

When the life I knew began to change.

Hockey was an important part of my identity. Injuries and the end of that chapter changed more than my plans. They challenged the way I understood myself.

Later experiences with physical pain and major life changes brought me into a deeper relationship with my body, my choices, and the habits I had developed.

I began to recognize how often I had been moving through life without fully listening to what was happening within me.

My experience did not give me all the answers. It gave me a reason to ask different questions.

The beginning of the work

From Retrain Our Brains to A House of Consciousness.

Retrain Our Brains grew from a desire to better understand the relationship between mind, body, and spirit, and to share what I was learning through my own experience.

Over time, that exploration grew beyond individual practices. I began to see the importance of relationships, environment, community, and the principles that guide how we participate in everyday life.

A House of Consciousness is an expression of that broader understanding.

“You are not meant to be fixed. You are meant to be remembered.”

A guiding idea behind Retrain Our Brains

My role

Not to tell you who to become.

To share what I have lived.

My experiences are a starting point for conversation, not a universal blueprint for someone else’s life.

To create room for exploration.

Through questions, reflection, education, practices, and gathering, I want people to have opportunities to examine their own lives more consciously.

I am still learning, practicing, and developing my own relationship with these principles. The House is not built around having everything figured out. It is built around choosing to participate.

The larger vision

From HEART to EARTH.

I envision spaces where people committed to conscious living can come together, share skills and resources, care for the land, strengthen relationships, and create supportive environments for future generations.

Healing and personal growth may be part of that experience, but the vision reaches beyond healing alone. It is about how we choose to live, work, relate, and build together.

This is a developing vision. The educational offerings and gatherings are ways to begin practicing those principles today.

The invitation is simple: begin where you are, notice what is happening within and around you, and consider how you want to participate.

An open invitation

Welcome Home.

You do not need to have all the answers to enter the House. Curiosity, honesty, and a willingness to look at your own experience are enough to begin.
